Let me tell you about my absolutely terrible online shopping experience, hoping it serves as a warning for others. I ordered glasses for my 12-year-old from glassesusa after he found them using their virtual try-on, but he immediately had trouble seeing. We learned the pupil distance (PD) was incorrect because the site doesn't prompt you for it and just assumes a value. Of course, that means the value will be wrong for many buyers, and for us, it was a disaster. I felt compelled to leave this review and finally reach out to customer service because I realized you will never be able to reach a human at glassesusa and have a real phone conversation, and email interactions are too slow, causing the process to drag on.
Customer: "I'm calling about an order for my son's glasses. He can't see properly because the pupil distance is incorrect, and your website never prompted me for it! This is incredibly frustrating." CS Rep: "I am truly sorry to hear about the issue with your son's glasses and the difficulty you've experienced reaching us. We understand how crucial the correct PD is. We can certainly arrange for a remake of the lenses with the proper measurement." Customer: "A remake? But getting a hold of someone has been a nightmare! And your policy states I have to send the original pair back before you even start the replacement, leaving my son without glasses for weeks! Your email responses take days!" CS Rep: "I sincerely apologize for the communication delays and the inconvenience of our exchange process. Once we receive the original pair, I will personally ensure this remake order is prioritized and expedited for you." Customer: "Prioritized? It shouldn't have been wrong in the first place, and the whole process has already taken far too long because your support is so hard to reach!" CS Rep: "I completely understand your frustration. We are committed to making this right. We'll provide you with a shipping label immediately for the return and will fast-track the production of the new pair, ensuring you receive them as quickly as possible."
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap and experiencing this level of frustration with their vision needs.
